I’m am super tired from my busy weekend handing out flyers in the cold at the National Wedding Show this weekend. I’d like to extend a very special thanks to all the lovely people I met, especially the guys who took the time to ask me questions about the site and gave me one of the many ‘Oh Wows’ I overheard when they took a look at the leaflet! From what I saw, our leaflet did really seem to stand out from the crowd (exactly what I wanted!) and I even got someone who came up to me and asked if I was ‘The Rock ‘n Roll Bride Lady’!! It really did make it all worthwhile. I hope my new readers enjoy the site and good luck with the competition! (I have extended the Wedding Date to August 2010 by the way, as I figured a lot of people at the show may be planning for next year.)
Due to my busy weekend I have had no time to blog (how very unlike me, as I usually blog up to about 15 posts a day – I’m not kidding!) so I have a lot of gorgeous weddings to catch up on, starting with this fabulously stylish affair sent to me by the very lovely Molly and Matt from Mathieu Photography .
Jickie and Mark, the Bride and Groom are clearly a very creative pair as they handled all the details from the gorgeous paper flowers to the hand painted sugar skulls (I love them!) themselves. Instead of a regular guest book they displayed a typewriter for all their guests to leave them notes of encouragement and lurrrve….Oh and one more bonus…the couple got engaged in London (woohoo)

People often ask me if I ever get bored of blogging about weddings. I can see why because usually once you've been doing something - anything - for as long as I have been doing this, it's natural to think that you might start to become a little 'over' it. So while I'm not going to pretend that I'm always thrilled, overjoyed and amazed by every wedding that graces my inbox, I can safely say that I am probably as far from 'over' this job as I could be... especially when I get sent images like Polly and Jamie's wedding to drool over.

Rain on your wedding day is a big worry for a lot of couples, but today I'm here to prove to you that it can actually be pretty amazing! Yes, Helen and James' outdoor festival wedding was a wash-out, but they definitely didn't let it ruin their day. Check out the amazing photographs their photographer Neil Thomas Douglas was able to capture... of course shots like this requires a couple who aren't afraid to get a little wet and muddy, but these guys went all out! They even went out in a boat on the river during the downpour!

I was rather over-excited when I laid eyes on Helen and Andy's Lake District wedding, shot by the amazing Neil Douglas Photography. I mean what could be more incredible than getting wedding day portraits like these in a setting like that!? Hats off to the photographer of course, but also to the awesome couple for not being afraid to potentially get a little wet or muddy. I'd love to see more brave couples like this please, who's with me?
The wedding was held in Buttermere, with the ceremony in a local church and the reception in a tipi in Buttermere field. The couple didn't have a huge budget and opted to DIY and thrift a lot. Helen wore a dress which she bought off eBay for £100 and customised with her grandmother's vintage fur (a last minute edition due to the weather).

For their late summer wedding Sarah & James wanted something relaxed, quirky and quintessentially English So they opted for a tea party style reception in the Suffolk countryside. The wedding was held at Otley Hall, a 16th Century moated hall surrounded by 10 acres of gardens and which has been voted one of the top 20 Historic Houses in the UK.

Sarah & Dan wanted a blank canvas space that they could completely transform for their wedding. So after their ceremony at The Guildhall, the oldest building in Leicester, the wedding reception was held in tipis set up in The Cedar Field, Market Bosworth. "The Cedar Field was great venue, basically a blank canvas in a farmers field where you can tailor every aspect of the day", explained Sarah.
